About Us

Sinoville Firefighting Association (Sinoville Brandbestrydingsvereniging – SBBV) is proudly associated with Apiesrivier Landelike BBV (Apies River Rural Fire Protection Association – ALBBV) which is registered with the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in terms of the NATIONAL VELD AND FOREST FIRE ACT NO. 101 OF 1998.

SBBV is a Non Profit Orginisation (NPO) and has been granted approval as a Public Benefit Orginisation (PBO) by the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

Our trained voluntary members provide services in the greater Sinoville and Pretoria northern suburbs in the combating and prevention of fires, complementing the services of City of Tshwane Fire Brigade – Wonderboom Fire Station and the ALBBV.

A flame that we are proud of, started to burn on 28 June 2014 when the public was introduced to SBBV with humble beginnings, a small but dedicated team that kindled this flame into a burning torch, lighting the way to greater heights and achievements.

SBBV can be contacted anytime and we work closely with other fire fighting associations in neighboring areas, the South African Police Services and the local Community Policing Sub Forums.

Our Mission

Our mission is to involve strategic role players to regulate fires and fire prevention in our area, realizing our vision to have a fire-free area.

Membership

SBBV’s training philosophy is to train our members in the highest standard possible with the assistance of the Wonderboom Airport Fire Department, ALBBV, Tshwane University of Technology lecturers, Dr. SC Rademeyer and Medcorp SA.  Our members are also trained in first aid, from level 1 to level 3. We are fortunate to have fully qualified fire fighters and paramedics on board.

We don’t believe in train-and-forget and therefore strive to stay current in our knowledge.

All training and responses to emergencies are funded by SBBV or our members.  Get involved with our great cause by donating or join our team today!

How we started

At the beginning, when we first started our association we did not have resources that the whole community has come to known.

We started with a trailer which had all our equipment on with a small watertank.

With thanks to our sponsors we have managed to gain a fleet of response vehicles for each sitation needed.
