SBBV would like to extent our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Guy Venter after he succumbed on Friday evening, 14 September 2018, due to injuries sustained while fighting a wild fire the previous day.

We didn’t know him personally, but we fought the fires together on that unfortunate Thursday and have the utmost respect for him.

We commend our volunteer fire fighter, Duan Bezuidenhout, who helped Mr. Venter after he was overrun by the flames when the wind direction changed unexpectedly.

We also thank our whole team that responded to this fire and the other volunteer fire fighters (Roodeplaat FPA and Cullinan FPA) and any other member of the community (resident or employee) that assisted with active fire fighting or providing support.

SBBV has the interests of our communities, members and volunteers at heart, as our motto rightly states – We Serve To Save.

Thank you for supporting us in our achievements and during trying times.

SBBV
